This delightfully unexpected variation of Tide / Ushio sprang up about midway through the summer of 2014. The entire bloom and seed pod looked nothing like Tide / Ushio so it was easy to isolate the seeds. I purchased the original seeds in the factory sealed packs from Japan so I would like to think it really could be simply a spontaneous variation of Tide / Ushio. Not sure to which cultivar this variation truly belongs, but it is very pretty – like fuchsia silk. Blend this heavy bloomer with
Scarlett O’Hara and
Early Call Blue for a blooming parade every morning.
